The challenge

Many markets, one day together

L’Oréal’s SAPMENA-SSA zone grew sales 12.3% like-for-like in 2024. Behind that growth, each country team was working in a very different market, from fast-moving economies in the Middle East and Africa to transformation projects in Indonesia. The people opportunity was similar everywhere.

The ask: sessions that people remember and use, tailored to each team’s moment, and a path from inspiration to measurable team change.

Leading through change

Leaders wanted to keep people focused and energised as markets and structures evolved.

One day together

Many teams met once a year at a conference or offsite. That session had to count.

Mixed audiences

From 10-person management committees to 200-person conferences, across cultures and functions.

Sustaining high energy

Operations teams delivered at pace across a large zone and wanted practical ways to recharge.

What we did

Design with the business, then deliver

Every session started with a design review with the business leader and HR. The partnership grew one team at a time.

1

Design

We reviewed each session with the business leader and HR, around that team’s context.

2

Deliver

Keynotes and workshops, in person or virtual, for 10 to 200 people.

3

Measure and sustain

For Operations, we added the Resilience Assessment, 3 months of practice and a re-measure.

Spotlight · SAPMENA Operations, 2024 to 2025

From keynote to measured programme

Operations first met our work at its 2024 leadership conference. Teams in Dubai and Chennai booked workshops that year. In 2025, the leadership team asked for more, so we designed Thriving Together as a 3-month programme.

  • Measure: every leader took the 50-factor Resilience Assessment, with a group report for the team leader.
  • Engage: a 1.5-day session on pressure mastery, emotional regulation, performance mindset, style agility, psychological safety and positivity.
  • Practise: leaders paired up as resilience buddies who met monthly, with 8 weekly newsletters.
  • Review: a second assessment at 3 months to show each leader, and the team, what had changed.

Why it worked

Three design choices

1

Every keynote was built for its room

A transformation kick-off in Jakarta, a people manager convention in Manila and a country team in Cairo each got content shaped to their moment.

2

One framework, many countries

The same resilience model worked from Singapore to Beirut, giving teams a shared language for pressure, energy and change.

3

A path beyond the keynote

When Operations wanted lasting change, we added measurement, resilience buddies, weekly newsletters and a re-measure.

What this means for your organisation

Leading HR or learning for a regional business?

Your teams sit in different countries and may meet in person once a year. That one day has to count. L’Oréal’s experience shows three things you can expect.

1

Sessions tailored to each team’s moment

A transformation launch, a growth push or a leadership offsite, each gets its own design.

2

A consistent language across countries

Your teams in Asia, the Middle East and Africa learn the same practical tools.

3

A clear next step

When a keynote lands, you can build on it with a measured team programme.

Book A Resilience Keynote

Give your next conference or offsite a session people use the next day

Our keynotes turn the science of resilience into practical tools for pressure, energy and change. We design each one with your leaders and HR, around your audience and your moment, whether it’s a leadership offsite or a 200-person conference.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does a resilience keynote cover?
Practical tools for handling pressure, keeping energy up and adapting to change, drawn from our 50-factor resilience model. Each keynote is designed with the business leader and HR for that audience.
Can you deliver across Asia, the Middle East and Africa?
Yes. For L’Oréal we delivered in Singapore, the UAE, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Lebanon, Egypt and India, in person and virtually.
What is the difference between a keynote and a team programme?
A keynote inspires a large group in 1 to 2 hours. A team programme like Thriving Together measures each leader, runs a 1.5-day session, supports practice for 3 months and re-measures the results.
How large an audience can a keynote serve?
L’Oréal sessions ranged from 10-person management committees to a 200-person division conference.

Session details are drawn from The Resilience Institute’s programme records and participant feedback, 2023 to 2026. Individual results are confidential and not disclosed. Market context is drawn from L’Oréal’s 2024 Annual Report.
