Our production methods, lifestyles, and broader economic model have driven global warming, ocean acidification, and steep declines in biodiversity on both land and sea. Back in 2014, the IPCC identified greenhouse gas emissions from economic and population growth as the primary driver of these disruptions. A 2018 study published in Science concluded it is now 99.9% certain that humans are the primary cause of global warming.
